Specialty Classes

All individuals born after December 31, 1978 must obtain a boater safety certificate before operating a Personal Water Craft in Michigan. All individuals born after July 1, 1996 must obtain a boater safety certificate before operating a boat in Michigan.

Hunter/Boater Safety Class
Class 1
Dates: 9/13, 9/20, 9/21, 9/22, 9/23
Class time: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: MRLEC, 714 Old US 27 North, Marshall

Class 2
Dates: 9/20, 9/27, 9/28, 9/29, 9/30
Class time: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Pennfield Middle School cafeteria, 8587 Pennfield Rd, Battle Creek 

Class 3
Dates: 10/4, 10/11, 10/12, 10/13, 10/14
Class time: 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Homer Middle School cafeteria, 403 S. Hillsdale St, Homer

This is a hunter safety and boater safety class combined. Each location is one class broken up into 5 different days of material. You must attend every day to receive your hunter and boater safety cards. There is no cost to attend this class, however students must bring a #2 pencil and or a black or blue ink pen.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

If you have completed hunter safety online and are solely looking for a field day, you only need to attend the last two days of the class. These days include the hands-on practical portion of firearm safety and the final exam. Bring the voucher with you that you were presented with upon completion of the online hunter safety class.
