Weekly Update for Monday, October 2

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP
Road: 9 Mile Rd – S. County Line Rd to R Dr S
Current Status: Hot mix asphlat (HMA) paving is expected to be completed this week.
Detour: None. Road closed to thru traffic.
Project information: This project includes crushing and shaping of the existing pavement, resurfacing with two courses of HMA, and installing gravel shoulders.

EMMETT CHARTER TOWNSHIP
Road: Emmett Township Local Road Program
Current Status: The contractor is working on punch list items throughout the township.
Detour: None
Project information: This project began in 2020 and includes the resurfacing of every local road in Emmett Township.

PENNFIELD CHARTER TOWNSHIP
Road: Morgan Rd – North Ave to M-66
Current Status: Paving is complete. Signs, pavement markings, and restoration are expected to be continue this week. The new signal poles and mast arms will be installed at North Ave.
Detour: None. Single lane closure during construction.
Project information: This project includes the replacement of the existing diagonal span-wire signal with a modern mast arm signal at the intersection Morgan Rd and North Ave. A video detection system will be installed at the signal to improve traffic flow and reduce delay. The road will be milled and resurfaced with two courses of HMA.

Current Status: The contractor will continue to grade and compact the road base in preparation for paving. Once the finished grade is approved, paving can begin.

Project information: This project includes crushing and shaping of the existing pavement, resurfacing with two courses of HMA, and installing gravel shoulders.

Project information: This project includes replacement of substructure piers, chipping and patching of the railing, removal of HMA on the deck, waterproofing of bridge deck beams, new asphalt, and new guardrail.
